Do not worry

Uncertainty is an integral part of life and this is because we are limited. There's so much we don't know, and even less that we understand.

So we worry.
In doing this we hope that we can anticipate different scenarios and prepare for it so when it happens we're ready.

This does, of course, have its positives.
But when we move beyond a reasonable sense of responsibility for the future, to a constant worrying about everything, we do ourselves a diservice.

We rid ourselves of all joy in the present with our fixation on the future. This also shows a lack of trust in God, which is what Christ is pointing out here.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
Matthew 6:25‭-‬27 NIV

If we trust God like we should, then we
should not worry because of the things we lack, because God knows we need them and he will provide for us. And Christ gives us a better way, which I've explored here.

So in this new week our hack from Jesus: don't worry, trust God.
